Influenza Epidemic, j The total number of eases re ported iu Victoria up to Wednesday evening was 16y5. The deaths number 87. Up, to the present there has not been a case reported iu Tocumwal. Reports were current of an outbreak at Strathmertou, and of a local re sident's child being afflicted at Cobtatn, but fortunately these were not true. The latest development during the week liae beeu the Stat^ pro clamation making it compulsory for residents within a ten-mile radi os of the border to wear a mask over the nose and mouth. Sergt. Mauy apparently flout the law by not weaiiug masks at all, others may be seen using mosquito net, and other.senseless contrivances are in vogue. Which goes to show the wbole thing is a farce. Tbe con census of opinion is that in a clean ' area like this, piles removed from even a case of ordinary influenza, mask wearing is like...
