A Painful Accident.       Robert Archer (67), a blacksmith em - ployed by Messrs Edwards, Martin had the   misfortune yesterday morning to inflict injuries to his left hand whilst using the emery wheel. lt appears that Archer was grinding a tool at the emery wheel when his hand slipped and came into contact   with the wheel inflicting a very painful wound. After first aid was rendered by   the Ambulance he was conveyed to the   General Hospital where it was found ne - cessary to insert several stitches, and later returned to his home. DEATG SENTENCE CARRIED OUT.   LONDON, Jamuary 5.   The Home Office has refused to reprieve Frederick Bywaters, who was sentenced to death on a charge of having conspired with Mrs. Percy Thompson to murder her husband. LONDON, January 9.         Mrs. Edith Thompson and Frederick Byswaters     who were sentenced to death in connection   with the murder of the former's husband, have been executed.     LONDON, January 9. Mrs. Thompson and Frederick Bywaters, the Ilford murders, were executed yesterday. Mrs. Thompson was prostrate all night and had to be carried to the scaffold in a semi-conscious state. Bywaters walked with a firm step to the scaffold. Huge           crowds gathered outside.
