The Observer. FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 10TH. " Nothing extenuate, nor set down aught in malice." THE recent disgraceful proceedings that have taken place in this township, could not be allowed to pass without some notice   from us. As journalists, whose office it   is to guide and direct the tone of public opinion, we feel it our duty to pass the most severe strictures on the display of rowdyism that bus taken place within the last few days. In doing so, however, we shall take a calm and impartial view of the matter as it stands, and will endeavour, as much as possible to throw oil on the troubled waters. We have no objection whatever, to people complaining of grievances when they exist, neither is there anything at which to take umbrage, in calling public meetings to discuss openly any question affecting the public weal.
