LOCAL INTELLIGENCE. [Newspaper Article] — Gippsland Times — 20 November 1861

LOCAL INTELLIGENCE. The Lower District journal and its corree pond6iits seem quite to oenjoytho discomfiture of North Gippsland u hayingv. returned a aliimheir4 sisreprcs&nt them. Thib may be all ve-ry wll,.nid we do not condemn-in them ibatwo esare-gitite ?rady to do ourselves, viz; fo honp obliquyj bn any man who so'unblush. ugly breaks the very first written promise in le a d eiaes, and upon which promieo hbbecamo "lected. But wi find fult with the Guoardian for so completely trying by its bickerings to d;iido the feeling of union which formerly existed between North and South Gippslsud ; thus creating two parties instead of one! dissevering general interests, and spurring up the producing community here to effect a still greater separation. It is well-known that South'Gippslatid possesses no resources of its own; that from us it receives its support; that its exports df cattle, .obbl and gold are I the 'prdducts Of the Upper "District,'and, at least two-thirds of its imp...

VICTORIAN EXPLORATION EXPEDITION. [Newspaper Article] — Gippsland Times — 20 November 1861

VICTORIAN EXPLORATION EX- PEITION The Close of Mr Wm. Wills' Diary     Friday 21st June - Last night was cold and clear, winding up with a strong wind from. N.E. in the morning. I feel much weaker than ever, and can scarcely crawl out     of the mia mia. Unless relief comes in some form or other, I cannot possibly last more. than a fortnight.
