HOBART TOWN. Sitting Magistrate -T. Bell, Esq. SHIP NEWS -Sailed on Tuesday last for England, via the Isle of France, the ship Mary, Captain Kneale.-Wil- liam Kermode, Esq. Supercargo, and a few steerage passengers, have proceeded home by this vessel, which will, it is expected, return to this Colony in the course of 14 months. On Monday sailed for Port Jackson, the ship Grace,   Captain Lethbridge, which lately arrived in this port from England, with merchandize. The Ann whaler, Captain Lowry, will sail to- morrow for the sperm fishery off the coast of New Zealand, _ The Native Boy, who was found in the woods, near the River Plenty, about two years and a half ago, and has been since under the protection of the Lieutenant Governor, and who was christened by the name of George Van Diemen, went to England in the Mary, in the care of William Kermode, Esq. Lowry, sailed for the fishery off the coast of New Zealand, to fill up with sperm oil, having procured at this station nearly a full cargo of black oil. Same day the schooner Victorine, Capt. Risk, sailed for Oyster Bay, having onboard sundry im- plements of husbandry and other property belong- ing to Gentlemen, who have lately taken extensive tracts of land at that place. Remain in the harbour, His Majesty's colonial brig Prince Leopold ; and the brigs Jupiter, Sophia, and Campbell Macquarie. LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR'S COURT.—Oct. 3. Fisk v. Stocker. This was an action for damages to the amount of £50, for detaining and keeping a steer, the property of the plaintiff. It appeared in evidence, that Captain Blythe had some time ago sold two steers to Mr. Raine, late of this Colony, for twenty pounds. That in dri- ving them with some others to town, two of them strayed away out of the herd; one of the animals was   described to be a mouse colour, branded W. B. on the left thigh, and J. P. on the left shoulder, and had been   sold to Mr. R. as before stated. The steer had been inspected by the Inspector before he was sold to Raine, and after he was the latters property. The defendant had killed the animal by Captain Blythe's direction, and his skin inspected by the Inspector, who swore, he was the same that had been sold to Raine by Blythe. It appeared the latter did not see the steer after he was sold; but on being told, that one of his steers was astray...
