LOCAL INTELLIGENCE. \ Furious Cow. — Oil Saturday last, Messrs. Quilt Reynolds, and Drynan, impounded a l't of cattle at West Maitlauil, and amongst them a cow which tho police wcro obliged to shoot on Sunday, under tlio following circum stances. The cow upon being impounded, becanio so furious that the pouiulkcoper considered it advisable to ' open the pound so, as to give her egress. After leaving I the pound she wandered towards tlio falls, crossed them, and remained on the other sido until Sunday. On the Saturday evening, and also on the Sunday morning, she charged several parsons, anil otherwise manifested a very vicious disposition, so much so, that the road became im passable; and Sergeant Kerrigan was o'digod to shoot hor for the proteciion of Ihe public. The cow is supposed to have been about 7 years of age. Fortunately no se rious damage was done.
