From reports received from Colinroobie it is learned that ploughing for the new crop of wheat is already begun by Mr (Jraeber, of Mayfield, who has only very reoontly arrived in the district from Corowa, on ihe border, and has 2000 acres which' he intends puttirg into wheat. The area stripped last season was 150 acres which will be used as seed.

The Syrian Church at Waterloo, was robbed yesterday of the contents of the alms boxes and a hand-bat; with cheques and money owned by the Rev. Sylvanus Manson. Speaking at Rroken Hill on Saturday night. Mr Garrard, Minister for Public In etrnction, p aised the Labor Party, ani said he always believed in men banding together for mutual protection. - ' The southerly gale that raped throughout Saturday and yesterlay was almost unpre ce iented for violence, blowing iiself out yes terday afternoon. The heaviest wealher occurred on Saturday Afternoon, when the velocity of the wind reached 50 miles an hour. The sea was the roughest for 40 yi are at the heads. It is estimated that off the South Head waves rose to the height of 40 feet. Owing to the terrific squalls and rain ship ping was almost entirely suspended.
