Irrigation IRecorb, Published Fortnightly under the authority of the Commissioner for Irrigation at Leeton, New South Wales, Australia. Address all communications to THE EDITOR, " Irriga tion Record," Leeton, N.S.W. THE article in another part of this issue, on pruning methods, as demonstrated by tlhe expert of the New South Wales Department of Agriculture, will be in teresting, no doubt, to intending fruit growers on the irrigation areas. The principle of regulating the growth of 4. . fruit trees by pruning, as set out, so as to ensure the best economic results from the tree, has been adopted after many years' experience in the various dis tricts of the State. It will be noticed that the trees are cut back, three branches only being left. We are, however, reminded of another method wlhich, according to report, has induced greater yields of fruit. This system is known as "long pruning." Mr. W. Sage, of Wentworth Irrigation Settlement, visited Leeton a few weeks ago, and gave a demon...
