"living pictures" have been utilised, : one of the most ingenious is that re cently perfected by Messrs. I'uterson and Musgr/ivc. This in its applica tion to riflc-lirc practice, the idea be ing to render the eye of the mar!:r5 man keener, and to enable him to be more expert in handling his arm. The "bioscope target," as it called, is of very simple'construction nnd operation. There are two rollers upon which is wound a sheet of paper of any desired size, like the films of a camera, the clear space be tween the two rollers comprising the screen upon which the "living" pic ture's arc thrown.
