The Rebel Prisoner* at Washington* Washington, May 5. Since Saturday nearly 3,000 rebel prisoners have been brought to this city. Seven hundred and eighty arrived here at 2 o'clock to-day, and were like their predecessors marched to the Provost Marshal's office under a strong guard. Thence they were consigned to _s.ife. quarters. The numbjr is too large for convenient accommodation. Additional prisoners are to be sent up from the Rappahannock, making hi ail four thousand and over certainly in our hands. They present a shabby apperance. The much larger part are _dressed in grey, the remainder in brown, and generally with slouch hate. Many of them have good substantial boots, while others are nearly barefoot. Not, a few, instead of blankets, show that they have made an extensive levy on carpets. The prisoners are nearly all young men. The Tribune has a special dispatch from Mnrfrresboro dated yesterday, as follows: Deserters report that the rebel communications between _Vicksburg, Richmond and Charleston and Tullahoma have been cut, and that neither newspapers or dispatches have been received in Bragg's army from those places for several days. Bragg was reported to have been mortally wounded by Breckenridge, but this statement is not credited.
