Good leads have been struck seven miles below Jackson's lead, on Clear creek. It is also reported that rich diEoeveries have been made ne_^r Boulder City. Building operations are being vigorously pushed forward at Denver City. The population there is rapidly augmenting, increasing the demand for provisions, All indications point *6 the re-establishment of confidence, and the permanent and steady development of ibe Kansas lines. The shipments of quartz maohinrry lately made from herewhen put in operation, will more fully test the value of the goldbearirg quartz discoveries.

Rnfiis Choate-Halifax, July 14.—Hon.Rufus Choate died in tbi-_" oi»y on _yesterdny morning. _Hig health had continued to improve duri'-g his stay here, until half-past six o'clock on'i/_uesday evening when the attack _oooimenoad which closed his career. Ho was unconfoiom from fix o'clock till two o'clock on Wednesday morning, when he died. His remains will te taken to Boston for interment. A meeting of the bench and bar of this city lias been culled to piepare an address of _condolenca to his family. Mr. Cb"ate was sixty yoars of apehaving _bren born at _Irsyviob_, Mass , in _Oetober, 1799. Ha was preparing for a travel through Europs_, for the benefit _ofhis health.
