COMMERCIAL. ASHBURTON MARKETS. Messrs J. T. Ford and Co., in conjunction with Mr Henry Zander, report on the live stock market for the week ending January 29, as follows:—On Tuesday last at the 'J inwald yards entries came forward far in excess of the demand in nearly all classes of sheep. Tho attendance of buyers was small, no doubt the cause of tins being that farmers were otherwise engaged in the harvest field, The sale dragged throughout yey considerably. The total of the day's yarding comprised 12,335 sheep, 13 cattle, and 85 pigs, The yards were made up chiefly of store lambs and twn-tooth crossbreds, and several lines of freezing sheep Of the latter tha Lagmhor estate sent forward a line of 1203 heavy weight?, which were the attraction of the day, and rod at 1%-s.
