CAUTION TO THE PUBLIC A SENSE of justice to ourselves anil the Dublin at l.irirn induces US to make the following statement of facts : On the 23d of Sent. 1830, we fold Charles IlavwarJ. Esq- of Ottawa, splendid buggy waggon and harness for 3230, and took said Hay ward's note for the same, payable with interest at the branch of the State Bank at Chicago on the 1st day of January, 1810. Said Hayward went south soon after with the waggon to spend the winter, and at the same time assuring us that his partner, L. Delano, would pay the: note when it became due. The note fell due and was not paid. Mr. Hay ward met Mr. Frink on board a steamboat from St. Louis when he returned in the spring, and expressed much surprise that his partner, Delano, had not paid the note when dus, and at that time pledged his word to Mr. Frink that lie would pay said note in the course of a week ; and as was subsequently asccr tained, Mr. Hayward then had in his pocket the amount of ...
