Makcc gave n delight ful Poi Luncheon at her beautiful home Hale Ola. on Saturday t h e 28th. of October in honor of Mrs. C. W. Hudson who has been her guest for the past six weeks. The table was prettily decorated with Kerns and Flox petals, a hand some cut glass vase filled with Flox in the center of the table giving a pleasing effect. The table was loaded with Ha waiian delicasies which were much enjoyed by all the guests. After luncheon Mrs. Menefoglio who is a skilled musician played a number of selections on the piano which were much appreciated. III r II r 9 I I I u I Of f i I Circuit Court Is Still Grinding The court room was filled with Japanese yesterday afternoon when the case of Nakamura charged with the murder of a countryman, came to an end and was passed up to the jury, which, after short de liberation, rendered a verdict of murder in the first degree. The murder for which Nakamura was convicted was the killing of n camp boss in Makaweli on the nigVof Oct. 11th. This is prob . ably the record for speed of any trial so far recorded in our local court, the murderer being arrested, tried and convicted in a little more than a months time. Nakamura is known among the Japanese as a "bad" man, having for some time acted in such a way as to get the ill will of the entire community. Sentence will be pronounced to morrow morning. 7 E IS TO THE GARDEN ISLAND. IS 0 CUING The Loyal Order of Moose a social, beneficial a n d fraternal order which during the past few years has had phcuominal growth throughout the U. S. and Canada and which has grown to a mem bership of 500 in Honolulu in the last four weeks and which will surpass the 1500 mark before the 1st. of the year will be organized on this Island in the next few weeks. Through an interview with Organizer L. W. Long it was learned that Dept. Organizer Thos. F. Lund will come to this Island about Dec. 10th., to begin work here. The Loyal order of Moose was organized in Louisville, Kentucky, April IZ, 1883. It was founded by Some of the most prominent busi ness and professional men of that city. Dr. John H. Wilson was in strumental in the foundation of the order and to him is due the credit for the first Moose ritual. Some beautiful lectures of the ori ginal ritual are still in use.
