THE HERALD LUCIAN J.. EASTIN, Editor. H. RITES POLLARD, Associate Editor. liEATEXWORTH, FRIDAY, JULY Ut S55. The Governor's llcssage. On our first page we lay before the rea ders of the Herald the message of Govern or A. H. Reedeh, in all its amplitude, to the first Territorial Legislature of Kansas, and would commend it to the careful and attentive perusal of the public. Communications of so public a bearing, and emanating from so elevated a Func tionary, are at all times interesting to the public, but coming, as this does, from so infamous an ofiirer and notorious a specu lator as Andrew H. Reeder, we are great ly inclined to think it will be read with far greater interest and avidity than it would otherwise command. Though we are not disposed to attempt the part of the critique in ana'OHiiz'ng: the me stage, we cannot with propriety, or conformity to established cus tom, allow its publication to go forth without evoking some comments from us. In com menting upon it we shall endea...

THE HERALD LUCIAN J. EASTIN,.. H. HIVES POLLARD, ......... Editor. Associate Editor. FRIDAY, JULY 21, 1855. ft- Conway's Letter. In the columns of the Kansas Tribune, a jxiper ever ready to undertake all kinds of filthj' work, and at all times prepared to indorse every Abolition outrage we find published a letter from the Abolition puppy known as Conway to Gov. Reeder, tendering to the Governor his resignation, as a member of the Council, and returning the certificate of election given him by Reeder, in violation of every sense of jus tice. He tells the Governor that he is impelled to resign the position assigned him by what he believes to be due to him self, " to the sanctity of law (?) and to the rights and dignity of the people." It is strange that Conway should have so long waited to do what he considered due ? to himself and the rights and dignity of the people." Why is it that he did not resign after the election? If his resignation was due to the sanctity of the law, why is i...
