SEVERAL CARS DITCHED By a Broken Rail. Baggage, Passenger and Freight Cars all off the Track. i II " The regular train running on tlio spur from Cache Junction to Preston, duo here at 0:25 a. m. was wrecked this morning, four and a half miles west of Logan. A Republican reporter visited tho scene of the wreck and found that a passenger coach, baggage and express car and one freight car loaded witli coal were thrown from the track, the coal car and combina tion baggago and express car being turned completely over and badly wrecked. Tho cause of the wreck was a broken rail, due to the intense cold weather in this locality. That no one was hurt in the wreck is considered rather remarkable. The train was made up of an engine, passenger coach, combination bag gage and express car, and five freight cars loaded with coal. The...

It is estimated that the apple crop of 1902 Is about double that of 1901, but tbo rainy season impaired the keeplng quality of fruit in some por tions of the country, notably New York, where large amounts were forced onto the market early In De cember and sold as low as 15 cents per cwt The best Jonathans, which command tho highest markot prlco, were grown in Missouri and Illinois. These are now bringing $6.50 per bar rel, against $2.60 to $3.00 for choice gToenlngs. Irrigation grown apples from Colorado and Idaho, which have been marketed in bushel boxes, were of the finest quality and commanded top prices.
