The Farm and Garden. Winter Management of Bees. ' If his ftitJcs: xrere carefully prepared for wintering during the alA weather ia October and November, the Ice-Veep-er will not be called on to give only a general supervision from time to time, though if warm days occur, on which the Lee can fly out, he niay use the oppor tunity to inspect his hives more narrow ly. Dead bees and droppings should then be removed from the bottom-board, as a precaution to prevent the entrance from becoming obstructed - or-closed. This should be done quietly and expedir tiously, and nly when the temperature is such as to allow bees to fly. low. must not be suffered to roost on or be tween the hive?, nor should dogs, cats, or other domestic animals be tolerated about the apiary, especially during the winter. The less the bees are disturbed at this season, when complete repose is so essen tial to them, the better.
