Additional details of a big naval battle off Port Arthur Thursday night came today. Sixteen Russian warships, embodying the cream of the Russian navy at the port, made a dash south at nightfall. A Japanese scout ship discovered them, notifying Tuga by wireless telegraphy. The admiral advanced with his entire Heel, excepting those on special duty. The Russians stopped not far from the harbor as the Japanese drew near. Japanese ' . odo boats presed the at tack, linking a battleship of the Peres vlet type and disabling the battleship Sevastopol. Tho second week of the packing strike opened with evidence of a determination on both sides to fight to the bitter end. President Donnelly arrived from St. Louis today and resumed charge. Women today Joined the mob of strikers, and when the news was passed around that the joint conference had suddenly stopped, failing to come to an agreement, the disorder became quite general. At west Forty-sixth street 500 women joined the men in an attack upon non union workers who were on their way to the yard gates. Sticks and brooms were used and stones were thrown, the non-union men escaping by a dem onstration of their ability as foot racers. At today's conference the labor rep resentatives apparently considered the former agreement abrogated.
