Political parties ia the northern States are assuming threatening attitudes; the one claiming to hoM that the life cf the nation depends upon the preservation of the old constitution, while the other as stoutly insists that it is a useless fossil, unfit for the present or any future occasion. One claims that Congress and Thad. Pali Eonnets. Styles of bonnets for eurly fall Lave recently been imported from Paris. White French felt, in round hats and in nonneti, is, in some respects ;i novelty. When the material is tase fully trimmed it i quite at tractive. ,The white felt hats have an unas suming look, and, though costly, are r.ot showy. There is a new shape, narrow and long at the fide:-, nearly flaton the top of the head, and drooping in front Another i a small square of laee or silk upon a fctiiT frame, tastefully trimmed, having long lace streamers, and only covering the crown of the head. Among opera hats is a unique style, consisting of a small circle formed of live large velvet leaves, with loops of a black chain falling below it, and wide streamers of gossamer lace (cither black or whice to fuit the fancy of the wearer,) attached at the side, and floating gmeeiully over the (shoulders. HAT IT H DAT, October 27, I860 Andrew Johnson. U there ever was a man, who, in the dis charge of hia 8worn duty, needed the sup port of law-abiding patriotic men, Andrew Johnson ia the man. lie has labored with a zeal worthy of a final and complete success. On the contrary, a wiley end unconscientious foe ha.i thrown barrier after barrier of no racan proportions in his pathway to peace and the prosperity of the American Union. In the elections which have just transpired in some of the mr 6t powerful Northern States the iasuo was plain and unmistatable ; there could be no doubts as to the positions as sumed, and men went to the polls and there deposited their votes with facts, not surmi se?, staring Ciera in the face.
