Besides what is reported inbedHspatches copied Id onr other columns, there is little 'to add. " The Confederates are retiring from Danville towards Tennessee, pnrsned by the Federals. ." The position and purposes of Humphrey Marshall are a sort of. raytb. Whether he has entered the State at all, or whether if he did, he is now advancing or retiring,.'are questions of doubt with'many. Col. Cluke's force, which attacked Monnt Sterling, has certainly gone elsewhere and the town is now occupied by a strong Feder at force. Humors are afloat here that the Confederates now hold the mouth of the Kanawha river and prevent boats ascend ds. The news from Vicksburs and the lower Mississippi is very contradictory and time alone will bring the truth. TheYazoo pass expedition was one day reported a failure with loss of three gunboats and an other as a succ...

THE BULLETIN. r rri'TJB LIS KED EVERY THTJESDAY BY . ROSS & BOSSEB, . Editors and Proprietors. . MAYSVILLE; THURSDAY, APRIL. 16 (KySee the article copied from the Louis ville Democrat, developing a new system cf slavery to take place of the old, devised by . Yankee conning." The new system is in fioitely more oppressive and grinding than the old. Bat it promises "to pay."
