ANDREW'S SOCIETY'S ALMSHOUSES. -----         We find from an official source that the   dispbser of events -as far as the distri bution of the lands of the people in Victoria is concerned- has promised. the St; Andrew's Society a grant of   land, for the purposes of almshouses, in the Borough of Emerald Hill; and we further learn that this has given considerable dissatisfaction to a large number of persons interested in the   Hill as property owners-and we can' hardly affect surprise at the feeling. We must here remark premisivcly, that we are desirous of giving full com   mendation to the society which thus proposes to establish an asylum for its   decayed members; and the readiness   with which the hon.
