Skim Milk for Calves. [Newspaper Article] — Chronicle and North Coast Advertiser — 29 February 1904

Skim Milk for Calves. \ Is it possible to rear good; calves on skim milk is p, qnes-i| ^ tion often asked. Majiy dairy! farmers who send theirj milk to the creamery consider ? that it, is not. Others, ho weveir, main-i tain that it is possible: to pro-' duce good vealers on al basis of sweet skim milk. In America, many calves are placedl on the market as first class veajers, and, bring high lates though never; fed on new milk after .the first; dav or two. The main points to be observed are that the milk should be sweet, that the calf be fed at regular hours, and that it should get a liberal quantity of the mixture, but not quite so much as jhe \villj drink. Overloading the stomach is.dangerous, ibut it is easy to decide when...
