In the House of Representatives to day, Mr Foxton presented a petition from tlie Brisbane Chamber of Commerce praying that provision should be made for refrigerating fcpace In the new mail contract, and that Brisbane should be made a port of call without Queens land paying extra subsidy. Mr Chapman was bombarded with questions about the mail tenders, there being a strong opinion amongst the members that refrigerating space should have been specified. The Postmaster-General explained that the Prime Minister (Mr Deakln) had to-day written to the State Pre miers, asking if they would co-operate with the Government In the matter of making provision for frozen cargo.
