Tho manager had reason to believe they were stolen, mid communicated with tho Dole gate police. On Tuesday SeniorCon stable Stutchbury and Constable Keating proceeded to Little Plain, and as tho reaultroE investigations arrested two men John Cullen and II. Beveridgo, jun., in whose possession the carcase of a recently tlaughtered sheep was found, tho oltin being hidden in tho bush a short distance away from their hut. R. jMa.il) and stated that the notice recently issued to reserve certain lands there because of the timber on them had included lands that were unsuitable for forest purposes and had excluded others that contained very valuable timbers. It appears that a plug af rackarock form ing part oC tho charge had not exploded, and one of the men struck it with the pick, when it immediately wont off, and the two men were severely injured about the head and face. In consequence of representations having been made to head quarters some time since, Sub-Inspector Brenno.n, of Yass, was sflected to go to Adaminaby to hold an inquiry into certain alleged charges against Senior Constable Hanna preferred by certain inhabitants of that villa. The Sub-Inspector arrived in Cooma on Tues day last and proceeded to Adaminaby the same day, acoompanied by SubIn spector Cornett, to carry out his mission.
