Tho whole seed gave 863 bushels to tho acre; tho cut '208 bushels to tho acre. A rery im portant condition appears to have b:en left out or was not observed and reported. Nothing was said of the condition of tho soil as to its dryness or the moisture- which it contains. Uucut tubers aro cover ed with nnimperriousjskin, and in a very dry soil aro not quickly shrivelled.
