A letter in another coltimn deserves more than a passing notice. The sug gestion that our Railway Commissioners should make concessions in the carriage of seed wheat to our farmers is a good 1 one, and' one which should be acted upon. As the writer of the letter says, pastoralists are allowed 25 per cent, concessions on fodder brought here to (feed starving stock, and besides this 'they are ' allowed- a 25 per cent, reduc tion in the carriage of stock away to fresh pastures from here. While it must be taken for granted that our pastoralists arc going through one of the worst seasons ever experienced in these parts, our agriculturalists are, if possible, in a -worse- , plight from the ?same cause. From the - mclancholy re ports recci vod .'daily. - the- season has : been a series of disaster from its ' com-, niencement.' During tho early part of the year agriculturalists had great, dif ;ficulty in first breaking up the ; ground and preparing it for the seed. Over coming this, they go...
