Liver Complaint. Is the cause of many pains and aches which some people consider are separate and dis tinct complaints. Headaches, papitataon, indigestion, flatulence, &c, are symptoms of a disordered liver and stomach. Many are the quack nostrums 6old as cures for " indi gestion ;" but surely the world is getting sufficiently enlightened to see through the quackery which is so preralent in this coun try. There are broken down plumbers, pain ters, plasterers, and printers selling " medi cines " to cure diseases of which these people do not even know the symptoms, to say noth ing of the therapeutics. Such is not the case, however, with Dr Fletr-her's Pills. These are the prescription of one of Eng land's most eminent physicians and patholo gists, and have been used most successfully by him for the last thirty years in private and hospital practice. They have ever bee*, found effectual in all bilious, stomach and liver complaints, and can be used by both sexes with the utmost ...

LATE TELEGRAMS. (SBOM^OUB COBSBSPOKDENX.) (BX TEEEGB&PB.) CAIBNS. August 15. "With Terard to the provincial scheme of Sir S. W. Griffith, it would appear that the majority in the Cairns district would in finitely prefer Territorial Reparation if the people here had to decide between the two questions. Th« general opinion ?«that Sir Samuel Griffith's scheme is inopportune, and that the whole question should bp left over until the time was ripe for actual Territorial Separation. Cooktowk, August 15. The feeling here is decidedly averse to the acceptance of the Constitution Bill as a final settlement. The "Courier" on Mining Morals. [Newspaper Article] — The North Queensland Register — 17 August 1892

The "Courier" on Mining JHoralfi* THE Courier of 6th inst devoted a portion of its leading matter to the ethics of the mining speculator, and a wail over the losses of those who fail to come off best in the race for the sometimes rapidly acquired wealth of the miner. Now from a post millennium point of view, when the greed of gold shall have ceased, and those who would become rich at their neighbors expense, shall have become even as the Dodo, the article is nicely moral in a vapid way. .It seems to us that early acquired information in all branches of fiscal operations is the active principle in speculative dealings, the dealer who gets say, the first figures of the traffic earnings of any of the Roads works oil his knowledge, and buys and sells on the results; news of failures in cereal crops in any of the great grain producing districts makes cornerers, and it is the first operators who come home. Does anyone say there was anything im moral in the action of the ROTHS CHILDS on th...
