WALKER'S FLAT. Walker's Flat, Nov, 19. [Newspaper Article] — Murray Pioneer and Australian River Record — 28 November 1913

WALKER'S FLAT. Walker's Flat, Nov, 19. a gloom was cast over the   district last Thursday when Mr. E. G. Hettner, the local blacksmith, died suddenly at the age of 63 years. Mr. Hettner was an apprentice to the blacksmith trade under the late August Linke, machinst of Moculta, when only a boy of fifteen years. He removed from there to Yorkes Pen   insula, where he worked the black- smithing some years. He again went back to Mr. Linke and used to make stripper combs and help to build the machine. When the farmers started on the Murray Flats Mr. Hettner erected a blacksmith shop at Walter's Flat, River Murray, 27 years ago, and here he worked until the time of his death. He left a widow, six sons, three daughters, and twenty grand children. The funeral was last Satur day. Pastor Scher of Rhine Villa read the burial service at the grave.
