Its constant aim and desire to alienate from His Excellency his trusted advisers; its .continued endeavours (not without some success) to be on terms of the closest, intimacy 'and confidence -with members of the Executive Council, while it was from personal motives the eneiny of its President, does not inspire much regard either for those members of the Government who could retain in close friendship a personal enemy to their Chief, or respect for a journal which could act in. such an unworthy and improper manner ; but such has been the case. This intriguing has had its race, but we find the Went Australian still continuing to shield the late Colonial Secretary, or at any rate in its questionable wisdom at tempting to do so, by withholding a correspondence forwarded by Lord Grifford. for...
