It is to be hoped that this is a sign of return ing prosperity for this township. ,e are looking forwa.rd to the new saw-mill starting here soon. One of Mr Munro's men has been inspect ing a number of paddocks of red gum. Arrangements are likely to be come to with several owners for their timber. The usual monthly cattle sale to-d.ty passed off satisfactorily. A good number of cattle were brought for ward. It has been suggested that the new lake found at Mount Wellington, might appropriately be called " Lake !lowitt." This would in a small wayle recognising the valuable services rendered in many ways by our highly respected Police Magistrate.
