Branigan announce from the altar on last Sunday, that the remains, of the. late and respected Father O'Rourke are to be remuo red to the chapel, and a monument erected to his memory. On the night of the 2Sth ult. the oiiice of the Bank of New South Wales, Nelson, was entered by burglars, who, however, found nothing. A frightfui surflashed the West Coast. on Wednesday, 6th inst,-so heavy in tact that the usual signal was not displayed at tide time. The Rangitoto, however, having ar lived oft Hokitika bar, from Melbourne, with nearly 100 passengers on board for that pert and Greymouth, it was considered advisable to attempt communicating with her by steamer, The Persevere, bound for the Grey, crossed the bar, shipped some twenty pas sengers, and proceeded on her wady north. wards.
