She is Fearfully Burned-Inhales the Flames and is Seriously Injured, but Proper Medical Treatment Saved Her Life. From the Chronicle, Perhaps in no cnsc as yci recorded has the efficiency of a popular remedy been found so clearly as In that of Mrs. Nora E. Hill. While her condition, caused by a frightful mid distressing accident, places her beyond the pale of perfect recovery, she has received such marked relief that the story of the ac cident and the sufferings resulting from it, will lie of more than ordinary interest to thousands of invalids. Mrs. Nora E. Hill, before September 1803, was a hale, hearty and strong woman, past the middle age of life. She tells the following story : "September 1, 18D3, while attending to my duties about the house, a gasoline stove which I had used for some time, suddenly exploded, throwing the bur...

CUBA Weyler Dodging Gomez His Conduct Causes Adverse Com ment in Havana. Nuw York, April 12. A Herald dispatch from Havana says: The extraordinary conduct of Gen eral Weyler lias caused a storm of ad verse comment. Since he left Havana on March 21 the captain-general has done simply nothing from a military standpoint. He is now in Trinidad, presumably to inspect the much talked of barrier, which apparantly serves no purpose but to fence General Gomez from Cdllxto Garcia. The captain-general's morality campaign against corrup tionlsts throughout the Island has however been pushed. An encounter with General Gomez, It is considered, Is the all important issue, and it has become plain that Weyler has been dodging it. It is believed here that the captain-genera...
