San Joss, January 20th.— was brought to this city tbi* afternoon that the body of a Chinaman was found hanging in a house occupied by Chinese on James barkers' strawberry rancb, two miles northwest of Santa Clara, yesterday afternoon. Deceased had been sick for about ten day*, and it is Siid that he probably banned himself in a fit of despondency. There U also a suspicion I that be may have been foully dealt v.ith by hi* companions. An Inquest will be held to morrow. The fruit-growers of this city and vicinity met today at Grangers' Hall, to cinsider Senator Baker's horticultural bill, and also how to destroy the insect pest.
