V Akizona Sentinel. SATURDAY, DECEMBER 7, 1878 The San Francisco Post, in its issue of the 3d, says: " The Chinese question occupies about as much attention in National politics as a fly on the tip of an elephant's tail." IT is said that Gen. Mcromb, of the San Francisco Alta, felt much disappointed when the Governor ship of Arizona was given to Hoyt, instead of to himself. But he would have felt worse to have got it, and then to have been promo ted to Idaho, to make room for Gen. Fremont. The first bill presented to the Senate, at Washington, on Mon day, was by Senator Beck: " To provide for retiring the trade dol lar, and for its coinage into stan dard dollars." This hill provides that for twelve months, after the passage of the act, the trade dollar shall be re ceivable as legal tender for all debts and demands, including customs dues, and that those so received shall be coined as soon as possible into standard silver dollars of 412 grains. Arizona Is getting to be a good custome...

Aeizona 8entestbl. SATURDAY, - DECEMBER 14, 1S78 "Washington, Dec. 4th. The motion of Mathews to take up the Texas Pacific Railroad bill was rejected 19 ayes to 22 noes on the ground that it would lead to a long discussion. Teamsters are complaining a good deal about (he crossing of the railroad track. It is bad for heavy teams, very; but as soon as the track 'reaches the hills, a few car-loads of gravel will be put in, and meanwhile a few planks will help out. We make this predic tion on the assumption that Col. Strobridge's attention has been called to "the matter, and under the conviction that construction is being prosecuted with as little damage as possible to local interests. Work for the liCKislature. Since the repeal of the United States Bankrupt Law, each State or Territory has passed, or will enact, an Insolvent Law of their own. There is but one State or Ter ritory on the Pacific Coast that has not its own Insolvent Act id est, Oregon. There is very little difference in a...

f Akizona Sentinel. SATURDAY, - DECEMBER 21, 1878 The railroad graders will work pretty near to the old OroVille ruins. They may be Itlcky enough to find two yeaskpowdcrcans full of gold dust, which were' lett there in 1872 by old Gardner. He buried the gold near the old house while he was drunk, and could never find it again after he got sober. Gardnef mined there and kept boarders in 1858. He made quite a raise and went off. Eight years ago he came back, and, after a few years' work,- he went off again, with considerable gold, besides having dissipated a great deal here in Yuma. Abou-2 Thanksgiving Bay an old Mexican! was camped on the Sonora road, about eight miles from Mission Camp.
