Local and General. Another Queen competition has .een latunched, but there is no s.ngestion that the proceeds are to go to anything but what the voting tickets say. The object is to put the building fund of Ouyen Presby terian Church on a good footing, and four young ladies are on the warpath to get votes, so you thad better get ready. The matter of Onyen's lighting seems to be getting near a decision. President Pickering went to ton on Monday to attend the municipal conference, and while there will tnake innuiries asr to cost. upkeepn, etc He vill report at next meet ing of the council, and in the mean time, Cr Brown will make an effort to ascetain the probable d?emanid for electric light and power. A lot depends on that. On Friday, Mr "W. A. Leach met with a painful accident. A horse he was driving took a nasty fit and bolted.
