Hopetoun Mechanics' In stitute. ANNUAL MEETING. The above meeting was held in tho hall on Monday evening lust, but there was not a htrga attendance. Tho president (Mr. C. G. Carter) occnpied the chain. Tho minutes of tho last annual and committee 'meetings were con firmed on tho motion of Messrs, Chamberlain and Tepper. There was no correspondence ,o£ any importance. Balance Sheet. Tho balance sheet which had been audited atul cartified to showed that the receipts .totalled £99 19s lid for tlio past year. The general revenue for the hall was £71 16s lOd. Library subscriptions only amounted to £6 7s Cd, whilst tile Government. Grant was £7 10s lid.
