► PERSONAL. Mrs. Clout, ' of Tar cutta-s treet, Wagga, bas received a cable stating that her husband, Sergeant H. D. Clout, is seriously ill in South wark Hospital, England, suffering from nephritis. Sergeant Clout sailed with the 56th Battalion oil January 26, 1917, and saw considerable service in France, where lie was taken ill. Mrs. 3-I. 'Behan, of Murray-street, Waggaj 'received word from the Base Bccords Office that, her sou, Bandiman Scrgeant T. L. Behan, is returning to Australia per the transport Takada, due to arrive in Melbourne on February 10. Sergeant Behan enlisted on November 8, 1916, and sailed for England^ n No vember 20. 1916. Sergeant Behan has a'brother in Prance, and another bro ther, M. A. Behan, enlisted, but was re jected. JTJNEE Z£VEI- CROSSING , SENSATION. ' A mild eebsalion was caused at the Jiinee main level crossing at 2.30 p.m. iin . Tuesday, wheu a shunting -engine ran into a .motor car driven by C'r. W. Birks, of ''Wyoming,' Old Juuee. The ear was carried some 30 or 40 yards along the line before the engine could be brought to' a standstill. Mr. 'Birks and the car escaped injury. As a result of the accident the caretaker in charge of the level crossing has been placed under suspension. Some weeks ago, whilst returning home from Junee, Mr. Birks, with his family in his car3 ran over a horse lying on the roadside, do ing considerable damage to the vehicle. The horse receiveda severe flesh wound.
