Rooky Cape. — Our travelling corres pondent wrote on Wednesday : — I am pleased to say that the potatoe crops in this district are good, scarcely any being affected by frosts, as . has been the case to a very Inrga extent in tho Boat Harbour, Flower dale and Table Cape districts. The crons hero are of good quality and expected to yield well. Scarcely any crops have been dug yet in this district. A petition lms been forwarded to tho Minister of Lands signed by a number of persons (many oE whom I believe reside outside tho district) opposing the proposed harbour on tho east side o£ Rooky Capo and supporting one on the West side. The majority of residents arc in favour o£ tho eastern port and it is honed that the request of the petitioners will not be granted.
