Sir,— Having heard from various sources that there are sundry reports flying about your town connecting me with the Chowillu Syndicate, I shall be glad if you will insert this letter in your papsr in connection with, and in con tradiction of, any such rumours. The Chowilla Syndicate I know nothing of, except that there is such a one in ex: istanee, and I neither have had or desire to have any connection there with.
