INQUESTS. [Newspaper Article] — Ovens and Murray Advertiser — 17 March 1857

INQUESTS. On Friday last an inquest was held at Yachandandah, by Washington Mur-   phy, esq., coroner, on the body of a   miner, one of Giles's party, who was killed by a blast in a hole, the fuse hav-   ing caught fire while the unfortunate man was ramming the charge. He had     his two eyes blown out, the cap of one of his knees blow off, and one of his hands dreadfully lacerated.   The poor fellow lingered a most painful existence fur a few hours, when death terminated his sufferings. The jury returned a verdict in ac~ cordance with the above facts. Yesterday an inquest was held by the same coroner, at Spring Creek, on the body of a Chinaman who had only been here about a fortnight direct from Adelaide. The cause of death was in- flammation of the lungs, superinduced by a cold.
