Boy Lost in France. [Newspaper Article] — Alexandra Standard and Yarck, Gobur, Thornton, Taggerty and Acheron Express — 12 January 1951

Boy Lost in France. Press reports state that a commis sion is to be set up in Europe to try to trace a few, at least,.ofthe millions of, people who vanished during the war years. Some left no one behind to care, their fate being as much a matter of dreadful indifference to the world as if they had been so many animals, but there were those with friends or relatives who still remem ber, still wonder, and even now hope that by some chance they will see them again. If it is impossible to find out what happened to an adult, how much more difficult it must be in the case of a child! Thousands of children vanished like shadows between 1940 and 1945. Where did they go? That is the ques tion on which Marghanita Laski bases her remarkable novel, "Little Boy Lost," which begins in the "Austral ian Journal" this nmnth.
