DEATH OF THE REV. W. J. GILLESPIE o A great many people of the Wes tern District, of Victoria, will bo sor rowfully interested to learn of the death of the Rev. AV. J. Gillespie, for thirty-four yeors minister of St. Andrew's Church, Coleraine, and in the earlier history of the district Presbyterian minister also of Cas teron, Strafchdownie, Merino, Digby, and about nine other preaching cen- ! tres. The rev. gentleman had been in failing health for a considerable ! time, and his memory had bccomc much impaired. On a recent Sun day lie attended church, as was his custom, to worship, and at the con clusion of the service he was still in his seat, but unconscious. Since tlieu liis condition has been serious, and a telegram we received on Sat urday morning indicated that he had passed away on the previous evening. Mr. Gillespie was born on July 12, 1S26, in the parish of Connor, county Antrim, Ireland, and was trained for the ministry in the Theo logical Hall, Belfast; he was ap pointed...
