Prof. Snow's sixth report on the results of chinch bug infection is out. This report cannot fail to be read with gratification by farmers all over the state. It indicates the downfall of the chinch bug as a crop destroyer. The representative replies printed in this report from farmers who used the Infected bugs, but whose neighbors did not, show that while the bug did much damage in their neighbois' fields,it was destroyed in their own and the crop saved. Charles F. Moran, of Industry, ays that old bugs were numerous .and young ones overwhelming in his wheat. The infected bugs, however, extermi nated them, and his crop was 15 bush els per acre. Wilson oc cnrred "Wednesday at bis home on West Third street removed from the business life of Abilene a gentleman who has for nearly a score of years been well and favorably known to almost every resident of this city. Mr. Wilson has for some months been in feeble health but it was only within the past few days that be approached the gates of eternity. Loving friends did all in their power to assist the sinking spirit but to no purposeand he passed from an unconscious sleep into the longer sleep death. Prancis Brown Wilson was born Dec, 29, 1820, at Waynesburg, Pa. In 1844 he married Miss CannarissaPen- nell, the loving wife who after almost half a century is left to mourn the loss of a true husband. Four children have been born to them.
