Times Photo by Mike Moors Tigers Try Harder by Sharon Goldston The Smithville Tigers and Bastrop Bears came out fighting Friday night. Both teams were nursing old wounds of years gone by, with each player vowing to get revenge. All the determi- nation and work on the Tigers part were in vain however, as the Bears shut out Smithville 24 - 0. Both teams started out full of steam. They held each other quite well ,the first quarter, neither really gain- ing any yardage. Bastrop was penalized 15 yards within 9 plays however. Bear Billy Aldridge was hard to stop Friday.
