Desperate Bsuicide.: ..--.---- .-- I Yesterday evening about six o'clock, persons in the vicinlt) of the' Bridge Hotel, Maribyr nong street, were startled by the firing of three shots in succession, and thealarm was raised that a man had killed himself. The news quickly spread and Sergeant Gray accompanied by two constables proceeded to the place and found that atragedy had occurred. It seems that the man whose name is James Dixon, aged forty.five, went into the hotel anad had a intof beer and after drinking went out to the fence, where he drew a revolver and fired two shots, which, however, did not take effect. He then placed the weapon against his temple and discharged a third shot. Some boys saw the occurrence and ran for Dr. Morton, who at'once'went to the scene, and after bandaging up the wound, recom mended his removal to the hospitaL lie was accordingly conveyed thither on a stretcher by the police, The doctor is certain that the man cannot recover although he might live for ...
