CORONER'S INQUEST. Au inquest was hold on tlic lGtU inst., at tlio Princo of Wales Hotel, on the body o£ one John Mathewson. Tlio follow ing jury was sworn in: — John Bcutloy (foreman), Edward Forrest, Honry J. Wil liams, John L. Voung, G. J. Nicholas, Win, Orosor, Chas. J?. Palmer, Frederick Smith, Charlos Stoward, Henry Croker, Thomas Iloclie, George Gray. The following is tlie evidence:— Patrick Kcane deposed : I am senior constable in tlio police of Wagga Wagga, In consequence of some information I re ceived this morning, about 11 o'clock, I went to a spot in Fitzmaurico-street, at tlie rear of Smith and Warren's shop, on the river bank, and saw tlioro the body of a man in tire water. It was under the water, upon its face, about four yards from tlio bank. The stream was not more than two foot deep wli°re the body lay. There was no evidence on the bank of anyone having slipped down thero. The bank above the body was nearly perpendicular. I got it out of the river and laid it upon...

Quotations—Bullocks, £7 10s to £9 ; cows, £G to£1 JOs ; shorn wethers, 7s to 8s j ewes, Gs to 7s. Store Cattle.—There is a good demand for all classes, more especially for young bullocks for fattening or fit for the yoke. Of the 250 steers from two to three years old, only J 34 were forward, which we cleared yesterday by auction; on account of Mr. S. l'awsey, at an average of £4 Is 7d, ranging from £3 8s to £4 12s j and have several other lots of different classes for which we willbe glad to treat privately. At tho Police Court on Monday, before the P.M., Alexander Chambers and David Thompson were charged with drunkenness and profane language. The former was lined £2 and the latter 10s. Bridget Cody chargcd with vagrancy, was dismissed with a caution. Johu Franks, was chargcd with stealing a grey maro the property of .Samuel Cherry from the stable of the Prince Alfred Hotel, Alfredtown, on the IGth inst.
