LET'S HAVE PROGRESS. The Editor "Chronicle", Nambour. [Newspaper Article] — Nambour Chronicle and North Coast Advertiser — 11 May 1923

LET'S HAVE PROGRESS. The Edilor 'Chronicle'. Nambour. Sir.— In your issue of the 13th April I notice a report furnished by the Council's Engineer retarding the Xambour fso-eal'e'l) sewer, and I for one can -juile endorse his remarks v-: the condition of the open part of this drain which I? a good imitation of coral. and has the accommodating properties of allowing the water to percolate out and in. and is also loo shallow to carry the quantity of watfT which passe? under the tramway and from the drain age across the main streit. Before this famous sewer was constructed tin opening under the tramway was sis feet by four feet: this allowed the water from the catchment area to come through in a deluge, with the result that yards were mandated to the depih of some feet, and the original wal^r course was soon filled up with sand from the Mill, from which it is pro posed to cart the material to fill in anrt raise the yards, so that the additional pipes may be laM. Before the 3dvent of the...

THE CRIM8ON CHALLENGE. A picture story of surpassing dra matic interest which will appeal to 'all picture fans who saw 'The Flame of the Yukon' several years ago, is Dor othy Dalton's latest Paramount starr ing vehicle 'The Crimsou Challenge' which will be the feature at the Itoyal Pictures Saturday night. In Lost Valley, which is dominated by Buck Courtrey, a cattle rustier and an all round scoundrel, Ttiarun Last, daughter of a Rancher, is the beloved of all.
