SUPREME COURT. FRIDAY, JUNE 21. IN EQUITY. BEFORE the Chief Justice. PATEN V. CRIBB AND OTHERS. This was an adjourned argument upon a Bill in Equity, filed by plaintilf, praying that a de- cree should issue from the Court to grant him a. certain portion of land, of which he alleged himself to be inequitably dispossessed. Mr. Ball appeared in support of the bill, and the Attorney-General and Mr. Lilley for the defendants (directors of a Building Society). Mr. Paul for the Official Assignee. The bill in substance set forth that the plain- tiffs son Phillip John Paten, being desirous of raising money, proposed to mortgage to Build- ing Society No. 3 (of which defendants were directors), his share of a portion of land held by his father and himself in joint tendency under an original deed of grant from the Crown.
