the Rifle., '> ./MULGRAVE NOTES'. ' (From Oui- Concspondent). ' Tho first shoot of the Mulgrave Ri- fle Club took place cn the 15th inst. ¿for a very handsome gold medal kind- ly presented by Mr. N. Barnett, whose generosity towards rifle clubs is so well known throughout tho North'. Tho conditions for the trophy; arc .'that it must be won twice in suc- cession,, or three times in all over the 200, 500, and f;00 yards ranges. Sixteen competitors turned tip to try conclusions for the first leg-in. The weather was very favourable for shooting, with the exception of the heat; which at times was very trying. At the .200yds range some very fair scores were made, notably Fairweath- er and White with 32 on each. The shooting fell od slightly at thc 500 range, barring Carr's and H. C.
