CIRCULAR HEAD PRODUCE MARKET. [Newspaper Article] — Emu Bay Times and North West and West Coast Advocate — 18 January 1898

CIRCULAR HEAD PRODUCE MARKET. STANLEY, Monday,--Harvesting opera-     tions are becoming general, the clatter of reapers and binders are heartd on every side. Mr L. Kings crop of oats, despite the   drought, was a heavy one and taxed the   power of the reaping machine. On Byfield and Motherwell farms there are 76 acres of wheat expected to turn out fairly well;   harvesting of the crop starts on Wednesday. There will be no regular export of potatoes until there is certainty that there will be no necessary delay in the tuber reaching   Sydney ; any delay is disastrous to their   arrival in any sort of prime condition at this early part of the season. Merchants were willing to give £5, and over last week if they were sure of the potatoes not having   to wait too long for a steamer.
